CENTERBRAND: The centerbrand consisted of an oval intersected by a rectangle (similar to
that pictured below on later centerbrands). The cernterbrand was and has always been
branded into the bat. Outside the centerbrand to the upper right was a copyright
symbol. Across the middle of the centerbrand was the word "YOUNG" with the "Y" and
the "G" larger than the other letters. To the left and right of "YOUNG" were single
stars. The words "BAT COMPANY" in smaller type was directly below "YOUNG." Around the
upper edge of the oval were the words "Made In USA" and along the bottom edge of the oval
was "Brevard, N.C."
BARREL: The barrel labeling was in three levels with the top level stating "PROFESSIONAL,"
the middle level bearing the player's name (usually in all caps block lettering, and the
bottom level bearing the words "MODEL."
1996-1997
CENTERBRAND: the centerbrand during this period was relatively unchanged and is pictured
below. The copyright symbol was moved into the centerbrand. The word "BAT" in "BAT
COMPANY" was moved above "YOUNG" while the word "COMPANY" remained below.

BARREL: The team name now went below the player's name and above the player's name were
the words "OFFICIAL PRO." Also, the player's name was also put in script.

MINOR LEAGUE BATS
Bats made for minor league players will have "PROFESSIONAL" over the player's name, over
the word "MODEL." While these bats will look substantially similar to those from the
93-95 time period, the size of the lettering will be different. The 93-95 lettering for
"PROFESSIONAL" and MODEL" on major league bats were 1/4 of an inch in height while the
lettering on the minor league bats from 96-97 have larger lettering at 3/8 of an inch.
