This has a very heavy crack which could only have been caused by this mercurial slugger breaking the bat over his knee, the bat has been bent until it was cracked and the handle remains intact but at an angle. Boggs, Wade NEW A classic bat from this member of the 3000 hit club and a sure hall of famer. This is a Louisville Slugger, Model C235, with super heavy pine tar up to the label of the bat, plenty of ball marks on the barrel, and # 26 on the knob. Boggs barrel
Boggs label The foil type stamping of the Boggs signature on the barrel tells us it is from the 1985-1989 time period, and the lack of a restricted symbol next to LOUISVILLE SLUGGER on the barrel indicates that it is from 1984-1985 time period. Thus this is a 1985 Boggs gamer. In 1985 Boogs led the league with a .368 batting average and 240 hits.

The bat is cracked with an 8 inch sliver missing from the back side of the handle, further evidencing the heavy game use and authenticity of this bat. The missing piece will not detract from the display of the bat as it is not visible when looking at the front.
