The chief owner and bat maker at KC Slammer, L.L.C. of Kansas City, Kansas is Jon Moyer.
Moyer, a former quality control engineer for a furniture company, began making bats for a
friend who was playing in the Kansas City Mens Senior Baseball League, and now has a brand
new facility devoted to the creation of bats for use by major leaguers and others. The first
major leaguer to use KC Slammer bats was David Segui, who lives in Kansas City and used the
bats in 1994. I have seen Red Sox players such as John Valentin, Tim Naehring and Mo Vaughn
swinging KC Slammer bats over the last year and many of the Vaughn bats are in the market now.
