All-Star Bat Company

Those in the know in bat collecting have seen over the last few years a few "miro-brew" bat companies becoming involved in the major league bat market. Well two of these companies, NTB Greenville and All-Star have teamed up to put out a new brand of bat manufactured by All-Star.

Before you think this is just another ash bat in the offing, All-Star's public touting begs to differ. The distinction? Radio Frequency Vacuum Kiln drying. All-Star claims the following:

"All-Star is proud of its reputation for quality, innovation and performance so when we decided to develop a line of wooden bats, we looked for a manufacturer that could uphold our high standards. NTB Greenville does just that. Our partnership allows us to bring you the finest quality of wooden bats available."

"It starts with the selection of quality white ash, not just any mill run but “Winter Cut” Northern White Ash, hand selected by NTB’s experts. Next is the drying process, the most important step of all. To make “Good Wood,” it has to be dried to just the right level of moisture. Too much moisture and the bat will warp, too little and the bat will crack, just the right amount and the bat will be “Good Wood” and perform like no other. NTB’s state-of-the-art computerized “RF (Radio Frequency) Vacuum Kiln” is the only one of its kind in the industry. Wood can be dried to precise levels of moisture resulting in a pure consistent quality “Good Wood.” Next the wood is sorted by weight and grain with only the finest going into our Professional Line. Finally, with customized equipment and hand craftsmanship, the bats are turned into performance enhanced patterns and finished with an exclusive grain sealer to stabilize moisture and to ensure superior strength. “Good Wood” is not just found, it is the result of close
attention to every detail that intensifies the performance level of every bat produced with the NTB/All-Star brand. This is 'Good Wood!.'"

(quoting from the All-Star web site).

The only example we have laid hands on has a combined NTB All-Star centerbrand with a filled in star and the words "MADE IN THE USA" below STAR.
